Brick wall side

I have always been passionately interested in the human spirit, from studying philosophy in college to becoming a coach back in 2001 to developing a powerful model of consciousness with my business partner, Ursula Pottinga (see BEabove Leadership for more on this!)  Lately, these explorations have taken me deep inside the brain through studies in neuroscience.

Being drawn to neuroscience was odd to me — I am not a scientist or even particularly detail-oriented. And yet, I very quickly found I couldn’t get enough of this amazing research. One day, as I was sitting at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts, it hit me. I had to study neuroscience for the same reason Leonardo Da Vinci needed to study anatomy. To understand what is underneath. To have the bones and sinew to build my poems upon.

And so I write to illuminate, and to help others understand. And in the process of writing, I understand more deeply as well. Putting my thoughts into poems never ceases to surprise me. I often read a poem over and over and find that as I do so something alters in me.

I offer you these poems from my deepest heart in the hope that you will find understanding, inspiration, and peace.

Namaste.

  1. Hi Ann, don”t know if you remember me but 6 years ago, I sat with you on a bus in Costa Rica, going from Nicoya to San Jose. I was on my way to see a lawyer re buying property in Costa Rica and we discussed that on the way there. I was so taken with you having left your country and living in Costa Rica…one of my dreams as well. Six years later, I am still searching, still visiting Costa Rica, but on a rewarding journey none the less. I see you too are on a very rewarding journey and again, I am so impressed. Your poetry is beautiful, sensual, and engaging. Cudos to you Ann. Bless you.
